I agree with the nursing home situation in Virginia.
I worked as a nursing home pharmacist consultant, a few years back. When the state came for a visit, I presented all my data, and observations.
The nursing home was cited for 17 violations, and after the company I worked for (PharMerica) found out that I was the one that gave the data to the state investigators, I was fired, and the nursing home administrator would not allow me on the nursing home property.
I tried to file a lawsuit, but seems Virginia is so "pro-Business", it was not worth pursuing.
There is no doubt, that PharMerica, and some national nursing home(s), have their hands in each other's back pocket.
Such a shame. It's all about the mighty dollar, and keeping quiet, when you observe any wrong-doing. I went as far as contacting Senator Warner, but it all fell on deaf ears.
It seems there are too many other "more important" problems to deal with than our senior's health, and welfare in the homes of Virginia.
