Sunrise Nursing Home Execs step down

I have never sued a Sunrise facility - although I have loved ones who lived in one of their assisted living facilities in Northern Virginia many years ago. As the Nation investigates for-profit health care providers, it seems like Sunrise may not be without controversy themselves.
The nation's largest owner of assisted living facilities, announced the departures of Thomas Newell, president since April 2000, Larry Hulse, chief executive of its insurance captive since August 2005, and a former chief financial officer; and Carl Adams, treasurer since November 2005 and a former chief accounting officer.

It also appears members of the Board are under investigation.

NOW WAIT - your goal is to care for people... and you get in trouble for "misstating earnings for 2003 to 2005." The only reason that would happen would be to seek investors and maintain investor confidence - so is the goal really caring for the residents? AGAIN - I have a moral, ethical and legal issue with for-profit health care, especially when the duty toward the shareholder is emphasized over the duty to care for the resident.
