T. Daniel Frith, III, was born in Lexington, Virginia and admitted to the bar in 1982. He graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (B.A., cum laude, 1979) and Washington & Lee University School of Law (J.D. 1982). Dan is a trial attorney with over 25 years of experience, concentrating his practice on medical negligence, nursing home abuse, wrongful death litigation, and other professional negligence claims. He has represented clients throughout Virginia in both state and federal courts. His knowledge and expertise are evident in the publications he has written and the classes he has taught. He authored, "Accidental Death Claims under ERISA: A Lethal Combination," published in The Journal of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association and is a chapter author for the publication, "Malpractice Law in Virginia." He is a frequent speaker for continuing legal education programs for other trial attorneys on medical negligence law and nursing home abuse litigation. Dan was selected by his peers to be included in the 2005-2006 edition of Best Lawyers in America and was chosen for inclusion in the Legal Elite Civil Litigation category published by Virginia Business Magazine in its December 2005 issue. According to Virginia Business Magazine, the Legal Elite represents an effort to identify the very best lawyers in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Dan is a recognized member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum due to the results of his diligent work for his clients.
Dan's professional activities exemplify a commitment to the representation of his clients and to the leadership of lawyers. He has served as a chair of both the Litigation section of the Virginia State Bar and the Standing Committee on Professionalism. In 1991-93, he was a Virginia Delegate to the American Bar Association's House of Delegates. Dan is an active member of the American Association of Justice.
Lauren M. Ellerman was born in Manassas, Virginia and admitted to the Virginia bar in 2004 and the West Virginia Bar in 2005. She graduated from the College of William & Mary (B.A., 2001) and T.C. Williams School of Law (J.D., cum laude, 2004). Lauren is a member of the Virginia State Bar, the West Virginia State Bar, Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, Virginia Women's Association of Attorneys, and the Virginia Young Lawyers Conference.
Lauren came to Frith Law Firm from the Washington, D.C. area with a wide variety of legal experience, including working with the Virginia Attorney General's Office in Health and Human Services and the Legal Information Network for Cancer, assisting cancer patients with legal problems including insurance coverage, employment issues, as well as the private practice of law.
Outside of the office, Lauren is involved with both church and charitable organizations, including the Multiple Sclerosis Society the Rescue Mission and Roanoke Area Ministries.
