Carroll County Car Accident Leaves Two Injured

A car and a semi-truck where involved in a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 77 in Carroll County. The accident happened on Friday morning and caused many traffic delays.

It happened in the southbound lanes at mile marker 20, north of Hillsville. Witnesses told authorities that a car traveling too fast ran up under a tractor trailer. Both vehicles wrecked and caught fire.

Both drivers of the involved vehicles were injured and taken to Roanoke Memorial Hospital. The driver of the car had to be taken by air ambulance. The driver of the semi-truck was not seriously injured and was able to be treated and released. The police are still investigating the accident.
